Whew! What a weekend!

So much for sleep and rest! This was definetly not a lazy weekend. It was a BUSY weekend. Thursday night we stayed at my mother in laws house, then Friday I had to go and do my granny's hair (that's a weekly occurance). The rest of Friday was filled with errands and other things that I only get a chance to do when I'm not in school. Friday night was book club with my wonderful girlfriends. Saturday we spent the whole day cleaning the house and getting ready for friends to come over. We had 5 other couples and their kids over to the house. We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Good food and good company! Can't beat that!

Today I had to meet a lady to pick up some blank canvases. I'm painting some canvases for a local consignment sale called Duds For Doodlebugs (www.dudsfordoodlebugs.com). You guys should check it out. It's really cool and I usually get some good stuff for the kids! I also had to go help my mom take care of something and then write a grammar lesson plan. I just finished that up and now I'm about to head to bed.

These next 2 weeks are going to be busy busy! I've got homework out the wazoo, midterms, and 2 sets of lesson plans due. If I can just wade through the mountain of stuff that I have to do over the next 2 weeks, then I will have 10 glorious days off! Not to say that I probably still wont have some school work to do over spring break, but I wont have to actually go to school. That's something right?

Nighty Night!

Ready for the weekend.

I need a break. I'm tired, I'm overwhelmed, and I just wanna sleep.

I am so ready for spring break it isn't funny. Of course, who knows how much rest I'll actually get during spring break. I have a birthday party to plan for Izzy and my mother-in-law wants us to take the kids on a little mini vacation somewhere. I've also volunteered to help my mother start cleaning her attic out.

I guess I'll sleep once I graduate. :)

Hiccups

Jimmy has had the hiccups for about 15 minutes now and it's starting to get on my nerves. :)

Old Friends

It's really nice to finally be hanging out with some old friends. We've been back in MS for almost a year and a half and haven't gotten back into the swing of hanging out with our old friends. We've seen one couple 2 weekends in a row and I just love them. They've got an adorable baby and Baxter and Izzy just mauled him all evening. They were in love with him (or her as Izzy called him all night). :)

We used to have a dinner club with a few couples that we were really good friend with before Jimmy joined the Air Force, and I'm hoping to get that going again. We used to get together every Sunday at someone else's house, but I think I'm going to try for once a month. Everyone is so much busier these days with real jobs and kids and such.

It's just nice to have friends down here again!

Procrastination at it's finest.

I am a procrastinator. I notoriously put things off until the very last second. In this case, I put off cleaning out my car until we could barely get into in. Toys, clothes, papers, and maybe even a kitchen sink were starting to take over. So today, I decided to embark on the daunting task of cleaning it out. Let me tell you, I wish I hadn't let it get that bad. I have just spent the past 2 hours cleaning said car.

I had 2 Wal-Mart bags full of trash, an entire load of laundry, a Christmas present that was lost before Christmas even came, unused Christmas decorations, several bags of toys, lost shoes, and lots of stuff that I had bought and have since forgotten about. I spent at least an hour going "I forgot I bought that" and "So that's where that has been".

Baxter went with Dad to run some errands, and when he gets back, he may feel like it's Christmas all over. I found stuff the kids haven't seen in months. Izzy has been occupied since I pulled the very 1st load of stuff out.

Of course, now the problem is all the stuff that was in the car is now in my house. So the house needs cleaning.

Oh well, maybe I'll get to that in another couple of months! :)

We're gonna party like it's my birthday!!

Cause it is!! Woohoo!

It was a good day too! Had school this morning and the day would have been better if I could have left that part out, but I can't shirk the responsabilities I guess. And there was a bomb threat on campus today, so at least it wasn't a super boring day ;) On my way home I called my sister and law to see where she and my kids were and they were in town with my mother in law. They were heading to eat, so I went and met them. I had a beer with them, then we headed home. Jimmy got home about the same time and got showered and cleaned up from work, then we headed back to town to eat dinner. We went to a new little sushi bar in town and the sushi was FAB!

So I have gorged myself on shrimp tempura rolls, california rolls, tuna and avacado rolls, and shrimp and salmon sushi. I am full, happy, and feeling very loved on my birthday! So far I've gotten 39 facebook happy birthday's and 10 phone calls/text messages. Plus my mother in law, sister in law, and kiddos got me a delicious red velvet cake! YUMMO!!! This may be a record for the most birthday wishes I've ever gotten on single birthday! Thank you so much to all my wonderful family and friends!

Now I'm watching Nip/Tuck, blogging, and celebrating the fact that I have no homework due tomorrow!!!!

Yipeee!!!!!!!!

Update much?

Maybe I should consider updating my blog every once in a blue moon. Not that anyone ever reads it, but now that I know my bestie has linked my blog from her blog, I'm feeling a little guilty that someone might unknowingly stumble over here and be like "WTF? This blog sucks!" So here I am giving you a little update.

I am up to my eyeballs in school work. That is where most of my energy is spent theses days. And speaking of energy, I have to teach an energy lesson on static electricity to a bunch of 4th graders in like 2 months. I HATE science. Not my favorite subject, so I'm none to thrilled about the prospect of this. My first actual teaching experience in a classroom and I feel like I have no clue what I'm doing. School is actually going pretty well though. I am enjoying it and have met some awesome girls in my classes.

Now the update on the fam. The kiddos are doing well. Bax is already planning for his 5th bday party in June and I'm already crying that I have to register him for kindergarten in April. HE'S GOING TO KINDERGARTEN!! That means that I have been a mommy long enough to have a school age child. He will no longer fall into the preschooler category. WHAAA!!!!! Izzy is super excited about her bday too. She thinks that once she is 3 that she will just be gorwn. Her bday is in 1 month. Exactly 3 years ago on Saturday I was 8 months preggo, Jimmy had a stomach virus, the movers were moving us from our apartment to our house on base, and it was -40 and snowing. It was an incredibly fun day. (can your hear sarcasm in type?) JImmy is back in school too. He's taking night classes at JCJC and I want to crawl in a hole just thinking about taking the classes that he's taking. The words micro, a&p, and nutrition make my skin crawl. YUCK! he's working for his bro printing tshirts and all is right in our world.

That's about all the newness for now. I will honestly try to update this webpage more often. I have a couple of cavases that I have done recently and I need to get pics of them up. I also have some great new pics of the kids that need to go up. Maybe I'll get to all that jazz this weekend...
